Pro Palliative Care Unit Foundation
Recruitment
People who are interested in enrolling as volunteers for the Pro Palliative Care Unit Foundation of the Children's National Hospital, must present the following documents:
- Resume
- Copy of the identity card
- Two photos
- Personal letter specifying the reasons that motivate him/her to compete
- Two recent recommendation letters
The reception of these documents will be carried out the year throughout.
Selection
The selection process is made twice a year. This process consists of several evaluative stages, whose fundamental objective is to know if the candidate's personal characteristics correspond to the ones established within the volunteer's profile.
Some of the activities that the Pro Palliative Care Unit Foundation Volunteers Group develop, are the following ones:
- To provide the patients and their families with human presence and psychological support.
- To offer companionship and human contact to patients and their relatives.
- To facilitate the rest and comfort of the patient's relatives.
- To listen to the different individual experiences from patients and from their relatives.
- To organize activities of relaxation and recreation for patients and their relatives.
- To train the parents in diverse activities related to the care and attention of their sons and daughters, for example relaxation techniques an dearly stimulation, among others.
- To organize special activities (birthday parties, celebrations, etc.) for patients
- To support the different activities that the institution organizes.
Induction and Training
Once incorporated within the volunteers group, the induction and training processes begin, offering the volunteer the knowledge, tools and aptitudes for a good labor performance.
